Well, about all I can say is if you have been fading my picks recently you would be looking pretty good. Tampa laid an egg for me last night, which has been the trend for my picks as of late. A key drop in the 1st quarter by Crabtree which would have been a Buc’s TD instead of FG hurt, doubt it would have helped in the end though. Panthers came out in the 2nd half and just run over the Buccaneers. Not to mention Cam put me in a big hole for my fantasy matchup going into the weekend. Lets try to shake it off and go into the weekend.

My big 5 plays of the week

Boston College +6.5

Reasons: The spread was inflated on this one because UNC played a close game with Miami last Thursday. Fact is they’re 1-5 and yet to win an ACC game. They got pounded at home by a C-USA team. Boston College beat what is looking like a much improved Wake Forest team by two scores, and the only lost by two score to both FSU and Clemson. Watch out for RB Andre Williams for the Eagles, already has had two games where he rushed over 200 yards.

Oregon/UCLA O/72

Reasons: Two QB’s that will be drafted in April are squaring off in this one. Oregon’s offense has been unbelievable, especially at home. The Ducks have scored 49 or more in 8/9 last games in Autzen Stadium (only one that was not is Stanford.) I think UCLA with Brett Hundley will be able to put some points as well, especially in garbage time.

Lions -3

Reasons: The Cowboys and Lions seem to matchup even on paper. Both have good QB’s, elite WR, and shakey defense. One big advantage for Detroit though is the running game. Reggie Bush (a little banged up) to go with Joique Bell compared to Demarco Murray (limited, first game back since MCL sprain) and  Joesph Randle is a big advantage. Bush didn’t pratice today so keep an eye on it Sunday morning, but Bell has stepped in nicely when needed. The Cowboys are on quite the run right now, as they have won there last 3 ATS. The Lions coming off a tough home lost last week, I see a bounce back victory.

Raiders/Steelers U/40

Reasons: The lowest under I think I have ever took, but the numbers back me up. On total net yards given up, the Steelers have gave up the least and the Raiders have gave up the 5th least. Both offense’s have been rough. The Steelers rank 28th in points per game, and the Raiders 29th. First year starting QB’s have struggled against the Steelers. Geno barley threw for 200 yards, no TD’s and 2 INT’s a few weeks ago. RG3 had maybe his worst game of the season last year against the Steelers.

I had the Tampa Bay last night in my big 5 plays, which was a “swing and a miss.”

My special for the week is for you guys doing the one week fantasy league with the salary cap. Did a few last year, a lot of fun since you can win money week to week. I will be doing this lineup based off the Fanduel 60k cap leagues. Fanduel seems to be the most popular one out of the one week fantasy leagues, and the 60k cap looks to be the standard.

QB: RG3 $8,800 (coming off a big week and he will be forced to make plays the whole game in order to keep up with Denver)

RB: Moreno $7,700 (main ball carrier for Denver, the Skins D is terrible, and could be a big reward as he has already had three 20 point games)

RB: Hillis $4,500 (Jacobs looks like he will be out again, he will get the ball if the Giants are inside the 5, great value)

WR: Megatron $9,200 (Shouldn’t have to give much reasoning)

WR: Fitz $7,100 (Coming off a quiet week against the most talented D in the NFL, now getting the Falcons at home. Should be playing this week, but make sure Sunday morning)

WR: Randle $5,500 (Scored 4 TD’s in the last three weeks, and has a good history playing the Eagles.)

TE: Thomas $6,900 (Peyton loves him in the redzone, should be moving the ball all game against the Skins)

K: Forbath $5,000 (Cheap option, should be out there plenty)

D: Bengals $5,300 (At home against a rookie QB who is prone to turnovers)

Something to keep an eye on, if Bush is out I think Bell is a must play for his value. I would switch my lineup a little to get him in there.

World Series

This postseason has been about two things, Wacha and big Papi. The Cardinals had to win one in Boston, and they did. I think its a pretty even pitching matchup in game 3, the Red Sox have an advantage with Buchholz in game 4, and I think the Cardinals have an advantage in game 5. Wainwright at home coming off an embarrassing loss will be tough. Whoever wins 2 out of 3 in St. Louis will win the series.

Check back early next week to see if we can book a win or two, we will recap the Bengals/Jets game as well as The Walking Dead.

Have a good weekend, y’all.
